Dominion Transmission is headquartered in Clarksburg, W.Va., and is the interstate gas transmission subsidiary of Dominion. Primarily a provider of gas transportation and storage services, Dominion Transmission operates one of the world's largest underground natural gas storage systems. The company has links to other major pipelines and to markets in the Midwest, Mid-Atlantic and Northeast regions of the United States. Dominion Transmission maintains 10,000 miles of pipeline in more than five states, including Ohio, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, New York, Maryland and Virginia. The company stores and transports large quantities of natural gas for large customers, including major utilities and power plants. Throughout the transport of the gas, Dominion Transmission changes pressures and heat, cool, dehydrate, refine and stores large quantities of natural gas. The company s facility located in Clarksburg employs nearly 1,100 people.
