I'm not sure why it has the same number and showing this address, but the JD By-Ripoff I am referring to has this address: 1061 Chester Blvd. Richmond, IN 47374.

Of course it is assumed you go to these places as a last resort, but if you can find someone BETTER then go there. First off, I thought it was great you could pay on your down payment and I was happy with JD Byrider at first, but that statement came to bite me in the rear. They say all of their cars start off at $9995. They still check your credit and charge you AT LEAST 19.5% interest. I bought the car with the lowest miles that I qualified for (an '03 Elantra). It was only about 7 cars that I did qualify for. The payments started getting on my nerves. Oh and also, when they are selling you the car they are recording you on videotape as you are going over the contract, also, they want 10 references in case of 'non payment', and believe me, if they can't get in touch with you after TWO calls, they WILL CALL EVERY SINGLE LAST ONE OF THOSE 10 PEOPLE to death! They also start calling those numbers as you are applying, so yeah, same day. Another fact is that they like automatic payments every two weeks, or however often you are paid, and once the dates are set, that is it. If you change jobs and happen to get paid on opposite weeks as the first one, they don't care, they will not change your payment schedule, you;ll just have to pay a week ahead. Another thing that bothers me is how they always 'encourage' their customers to pay over the bi-weekly amounts. Really? If you're already paying between $160-$200 every 2 weeks and have other bills, how can you pay over all the time? Yeah, it helps the interest rate go down by a tad bit and pay the car off (most cars have 3 1/2 year loans) a tad quicker, but really? I plan on refinancing my car in a few months, probably buyging a new car after trading that one in! When I was going to refinance my car last year and asked for the 10 day payoff, he got an attitude very quickly! He obviously didn't want me to get a lower rate and then he proceeds to tell me most of their customers don't try to refinance until they have 4-6 months left on the vehicle to pay it off... REALLY!?!? Liar! Why would someone wait that late? They might as well finish the payments with them! I think their service department is crap and I would not advise buying the extra warranty with them, especially if you have your own mechanic, it's just a waste of more money. I can say that I have never had big problems with my car, the only thing was that my timing belt was over 20,000 miles overdue of being changed, but I had taken care of that before something bad happened, and my wind shield wipers stopped working on the way to school while it was raining hard! But other than that, no problems with my car. They also did help build my credit, but they need to change many of their ways...
