        I've been to several other transmission shops in the TriCities. American Transmission is the one I keep coming back to and always recommend to others. Fair, fast, trustworthy. What amazed me is Craig will recommend against unnecessary work. This shop is who I would send my wife to and not be concerned that she would be taken advantage of.

        My only complaint is getting them to answer the phone to schedule an appointment. GUYS! AT LEAST GET AN ANSWERING MACHINE!!

        TRUELY AMAZING!!

        I have had my van in there Twice since I got it in 1999. The first time was in 2005, when I ran over what I thought was styrofoam in the road... it wasn't. My van would not shift out of first gear. Turned out to be a $35.00 sensor. I got charged for the sensor, no labor, just the $35.00 sensor! The next time was in 2013. My transmission failed. It was destroyed! I expected to pay around $3000.00 plus labor. They found me a brand new, custom built tranny, got it installed and back to me in 4 days! They even shipped back the core and got me $400.00 reimburced! Total out of pocket, $1700.00 minus the $400.00 core charge. You can't beat their prices, quality of work, and customer service! I will never go anywhere EVER again!
