Dr. Tooman has been my vet for many years and he has consistently provided excellent, knowledgeable care. I have always owned Thoroughbreds and, unlike other vets, Dr. Tooman totally understands Thoroughbreds. My horses love him and I trust him.

Not sure what those other reviewers were talking about since I find Dr. Tooman to be extremely thorough and caring. My horse, Bella has a badly swollen back leg and infection. Dr. Tooman responded quickly, and took X-rays to make sure there was no foreign object. The X-rays were very clear and showed nothing. He operated and cut a drainage hole. I was very upset by all the blood, but he calmly explained this was normal and she would be fine. Treated Bella with antibiotics and wrapped her up. The next morning, Dr. Tooman returned, inspected the wound, re-wrapped the leg in an adorable wrap with a heart on it and sent me pictures with a health report while I was at work. He's coming back in 2 days to give her more antibiotics and to change the bandage. My horse could not be in better care. Highly recommend this wonderful and caring man.

I had a pre purchase exam done on a horse I wanted to buy, I live out of State so I had to totally rely on this Vet.s findings....He told us over the phone how he felt the horse passed the exam, however, after several phone calls to get the report via email or mail the report, I finally got it weeks later & it contained a few items he DID NOT tell me on the phone. If I would of known these other facts I would not of bought the horse.

I had a pre-purchase exam done by Dr.Tooman. Since I could not be there in person, I had to trust him doing the exam without my presence, and I did. What a mistake!!! After a few months I had him send the x-rays to my vet's office. We never had to look at them, until a year later. It turns out that the $200 x-rays for the one hock was so bad, my veterinarian could barely tell what he was looking at. There was only ONE! Usually, it takes about 3 x-rays for hocks. The foot x-rays where done with shoes on, no packing and he did not even pick out his feet. These also cost $200. The other $200 x-ray of his canon bone was the only one that was ok. Be aware and be warned to trust this vet with a pre-purchase exam. Very expensive and untrustworthy!
