I remember when this store first opened. It was very clean and well organized. the employees were nice and friendly. I moved away from Reno for a few years, and when I moved back, I was shocked to see the store is now nothing more than a total junk store. It is dirty and disorganized. They just slap the merchandise on the shelves, and the clothes on the racks. And GW decided they need to sell some new junky merchandise along with the donated items. There are no rest rooms, so some have urinated in the dressing rooms at times. They now have one side of the dressing rooms entirely closed off. And for some reason they are no longer able to keep employees. I often see the really reliable, hard working employees quit, and the rest spend more time visiting among themselves or with customers than working. And to top it off, they have increased their prices considerably. Someone told me that once Sacramento took over as the supervisor, the store has rapidly gone down hill. There is another thrift store across the parking lot, and it is well lit, the dressing rooms are maintained, they have rest rooms, and the merchandise is well organized. GW could take a few lessons from them. GW used to be my favorite store, but now I find I spend more of my money elsewhere, even if the prices are sometimes higher. I have a background in retail, so maybe I notice these things more than others might, but I find it pretty sad to see a great store go down hill like this, and good managers being let go or quitting because of upper management who apparently do not have a clue. I do not know any of the employees or managers or former managers personally, but have simply observed things since I am a regular shopper and go there at least twice a week, and spend a lot of money in thrift stores. I believe in purchasing as much as possible second hand rather than new.
