The organization s wholesale energy operations are conducted through Black Hills Energy, a wholly owned subsidiary of Black Hills Corporation. The subsidiary company generates electricity, produces natural gas and oil, mines coal and markets energy. Black Hills Corporation s retail operations include Black Hills Power, an electric utility, which provides service to the Black Hills region and sells surplus power in wholesale markets; and Cheyenne Light, Fuel & Power, a Wyoming electric and gas distribution company acquired in January 2005. A publicly traded company listed on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol BKH, Black Hills Corporation is based in Rapid City, S.D.
