Hughie & Louie's

I rent all of my character costumes from Hughie and Louie’s. I have always been treated well, the costumes are wonderful, and my events have been very successful. If you need a character costume, Hughie and Louie’s is the place to go. They will go out of their way to make you happy.



A previous reviewer complained that they were misled about the character costumes but they never set foot in the store. This person called three times to ask about the costume but never went into the store and they are angry that their children were disappointed? If it was so important to them, they should have visited the store to see the costume and made up their own mind. And if not happy with the big mouse, they could have chosen from a wide range of newer kid friendly characters. Trust me they are super!



Come on people - Name branded characters are trademarked and belong to their creators. Hughie and Louie’s can not tell you that their costumes look like name brand characters- no matter how many times you ask- IT IS AGAINST THE LAW!!! If you ask ‘Does it look like Mickey?’ they must say “No," anything else would open them to lawsuits.



Seriously, does anyone call Target three times and ask them to describe the gifts they want to buy and then make a decision without going to the store. Or does anyone order the cake after three calls to a bakery but no in person visit? How about asking a stylist to fax over a hair cut. Really this is ridiculous.



Louie even voluntarily disclosed that the costume in question was an older model. That sounds pretty honest to me.

It isn't even worth the star I had to put up here. We called three times to see if they had a Mickey Mouse costume and that it was available for rental. While I do understand that Disney has the only authentic ones, I am aware that there are unofficial copies available. The first two times we called, we were led to believe that they had one available. We were told that there was an older head and a tux. On our third call, the day before the party, we were told for the first time that the head DID NOT LOOK LIKE MICKEY MOUSE!!! Although they never confirmed that it looked like Mickey in the previous calls, they also did not deny that it looked like Mickey. Since they led us to believe that they had what we were looking for, we didn't pursue any other options and therefore there will be two very disappointed little girls.

This ad could be alot more informitive. sure they say what do, but thats about all.



A good ad would have all the info a prospective customer would need to know.
