Upgrade to my original review. After speaking with the CEO, my mother was moved to a different room and my brother says that things are much better there, comparable to the treatment she was getting in Rahway Hospital in the same building. How she could have been moved into such a mess in the first place still raises warning flags and we'll be paying close attention.



The original posting read:



Just received the following text from my sister: "Moved mom int a 4th floor room. No one cleaned it. There might be feces on the shade. Grama's birthday balloons were still here from previous resident. I wiped surfaces with antibacterial wipes. Trying to get a patient handbook to call management. Sink has been out of order & 10am yesterday maintenance was notified. Not repaired yet. They want Mom's living will. Please come tomorrow to see for yourself. Maybe things look better in the morning."

My brother replied this morning: "the place is a dump."

I gave it one star because I couldn't give it a zero.

I had surgery here in Oct.2008.Cervical Spine fusions C3-7 performed by Dr. Jeff Pan of Edison (the very best surgeon ever).He is a Neuro-surgeon and specializes in the Spine.The hospital looks beautiful ( I was there a long time ago to visit-ugh!)Nurses and staff are terrific.I have never been admitted to a hospital so quickly and efficiently.What a pleasure.All personnel seem to know what their job entails and they do it so professionally.Also -the best hospital food I have ever tasted.I felt like I was a special guest in a hotel.Doctors and nurses are so very caring .They don't believe in pain - I was very happy about that.Wouldn't you be??I can't say enough about my stay there.If you have to be in a hospital-this is absolutely the best one.

I've been in a few in my 71 years but this is the only one that I would rate # 1.
