Dryer goes on but takes about 2 or 3 hours to dry a very small load

Allow it to run 1 minute on high heat. Then open the door. If it is hot inside it is a air flow problem. Which means either the lint has built up inside the dryer ,or in the vent going to the outside. Also you could have your dryer pushed too close to the wall blocking the vent from allowing air flow.
