I honestly don’t get all these people with their negative reviews. Dale (the owner) is a good guy, very knowledgeable in his trade, and is more than happy to help a serious buyer. Just because someone isn’t into a whole lot of small talk and catering to window shoppers doesn’t make them a jerk. If you want something for nothing, try the local Walmart. Of course you’re not going to get gun show prices in a small town retail operation. Don’t waste his time, and he won’t waste yours.

My purchases have all gone smoothly, and the owner has always been helpful throughout the process.

Visited this shop for the first time ever on same weekend as Dulles Gun Show. Experienced pretty much the same as mentioned. When asked if he had a revolver with a laser, response was "well I could always put a laser on it. Would run about $350 in addition to the gun price." Which would raise the price to double the Expo Dealers' prices.

Also, the entrance stairs and porch is falling apart. One could easily fall. (No handicap friendly access.)

Wow it's like every other review on this shop. It's almost like these other guys were with me!

I stopped in to actually buy several items. First of all he had None of them, well except for the AK ammo which was almost twice what Loudoun Guns in Leesburg has it for. But again the owner was hanging out with his 600 pound buddy. Everything is crowded in this little crap box of a store. I inquired about several items and these guys acted like I was a bother. So rude that I just walked out. This is truly a shame because I like to support local small business. This clown just makes it hard. So if you are in the NOVA area, do yourself a favor and go to Loudoun guns or even go to Winchester, and you will be treated with respect. This was just a joke today. What a shame because I have a pocket full of cash that I'm going to spend, just not with these d- bags!

terrible service

The guy running the store had to be the rudest and most sarcastic gun store owner around, he kept talking to his buddy in the store for a while before actually acknowledging me... Every answer was sarcastic and said in a manner to make e feel stupid... He lost a 500 dollar sale today because of this...

The owner of this store will not attempt to help you unless you are a friend. I called in December 2012 to inquire if he had an ARs, and was told, "Yea we have a bunch, but I will not discuss price over the phone." When I arrived, it was a solid 15 minutes before the owner would even acknowledge my presence, though there were no other customers in the store (he was eating). I then asked him about his inventory; he had 5 bushmasters, 2 stags, and a rock river on the shelf. The prices he asked were $2500, $2200, and $2900 respectively for NIB basic guns. The owner was not willing to negotiate on price (though dramatically over-inflated), and I believe this was because I did not know him personally. He swore to me that I would not be able to find an AR anywhere cheaper, so I left. I found a Colt LE6920 THE NEXT DAY for retail price ($1220) at another local store! Just because a gun shop can ask more than double what guns should list for, does not mean they should. Poor customer service and high prices- avoid Purcell guns!

The owner of this shop is one of the most *demeaning, smart-alecks* I've ever met in a gun shop. I asked the owner a gun-related question and he comes back with this sarcastic, "what an idiot you are" kind of answer. With this arrogant, sarcastic smirk, he looked over to his friend and asked, "Now, how do I answer this one?" Then he said to me, "What kind of dumb question is that?" If you're a fairly new person around guns, is there really ever a "dumb" question?? I don't think so. So my advice to anyone looking to buy anything from a gun shop is to make the trip out to Leesburg or Winchester. If you want to be treated like your a *piece of garbage*, by all means head over. Afterwards, I called him back to tell him that he should get an attitude change, and after telling me "go back to New Jersey and F-you, bud" he hung up. Nice guy, eh? Yep, that's Purcellville Guns. (P.S. I live in VA).
