- Dr. Lawlor was born and raised in Arizona. He obtained a bachelor of interdisciplinary studies with emphasis in sociology and chemistry from Arizona State University (Go Devils!). Upon graduation, Dr. Lawlor moved with his wife and children to Kansas City, MO and attended four years of medical school at Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences. After graduating from medical school Dr. Lawlor completed a three year internal medicine residency at the University of Missouri-Columbia. He then completed two additional years of fellowship training in Rheumatology at the University of Missouri-Columbia. In Dr. Lawlorās final year of fellowship he served as chief fellow in Rheumatology and assisted in the teaching of residents working in Rheumatology. Dr. Lawlor developed a passion for teaching while in residency and fellowship and has continued teaching and mentoring residents to this day from the Midwestern Internal Medicine Residency Program at Verde Valley Medical Center. Dr. Lawlor has been practicing Rheumatology in Arizona since 2010. He loves being a Rheumatologist and helping patients successfully treat their arthritis and autoimmune disease, but his greatest joy comes from being a father and husband. Dr. Lawlor and his wife have six children which keep them on their toes.

Provided by Doctor.comEverytime I come in the staff is always friendly and very nice. If I have questions and call I am always helped and my questions are always answered. I used to get really nervous coming in and now since being with this office since 2018 I have become very comfortable and no longer nervous about my appointments.

I have been with Dr Lawlor since he came to Prescott. What a blessing. Finally, a good diagnosis and effective treatment. Great office people. Generally reasonable wait times, but he doesn't rush you, and they get emergencies in, so that varies. I have required a lot of intervention over time, and they always took the time to get special medications approved, fit me in for flares, whatever i needed. Now, my rheumatoid arthritis is under control and I'm deeply grateful. There are negative reviews out there and I'm not sure why. Dr Lawlor is mild, never rushes you, explains. All I can think is that people want certain diagnoses, drugs, or treatment and if he doesn't agree, they get angry? He is the board certified rheumatologist; I'm certainly willing to listen to his explanations and suggestions. That said, i do not always follow his advice and he doesn't hold it against me. Still, after years of pain, misdiagnosis, mistreatment-- I finally found a local doctor who is qualified and competent. I am so glad he came to Prescott.
