        The Dutchess County Office for the Aging is a county department that plans, coordinates and provides an array of community-based services to the elderly and individuals who require long-term care. Its caregiver services include case management, home and day care, overnight respite, case assistance, counseling and referral. It organizes several recreational and social activities, such as art presentations, holiday parties, concerts, movies, bingo, blood pressure screenings, picnics, stress reduction seminars, exercise classes and shopping trips. Additionally, the office offers legal services in the areas of Medicaid and Medicare eligibility and termination, consumer issues and property rights. The Dutchess County Office for the Aging also offers housing programs. Its main office is in Poughkeepsie, N.Y.
