The MO of this place is to try to sell you a new system in lieu of making requested repairs. However, rather than pitch this to you over the phone, they send out a tech to make that pitch. Thus, I got to pay $125 for the privilege of them coming out to try to sell me a new machine, and they could even transfer the data from old one onto the new one for me.
They also did not tell me that I would have to pay for the full first hour of their time, regardless of how little actual time the tech spent working on my machine.
I felt totally ripped off. Be careful you don't get ripped off, too.

It is NEVER our policy to avoid repairs and recommend a new computer. BUT in some cases it does make sense to actually replace a computer instead of repairing it based on the cost of repair, the age of the old computer, and the cost of a similar replacement. We are always willing to repair, it just may be more expensive than a new computer, given the parts that may be necessary. I am sorry if there was some confusion on our minimum charge. We charge $25 for the appointment, and $99 for up to one hour of on-site service, with a one hour MINIMUM, so $124. That includes up to one hour of repair on-site, or a credit towards other recommended services. We field 30-75 calls a day and make a practive to indicate $99 for up to one hour, and that it is required. I will remind the office staff of this, but I am sure it was mentioned. There is no way we could be in business if we only billed $25 to send skilled trained technicians to your home or business. That all being said, I wouldn't mind looking into this issue for you and see if a repair is cost effictive or something you want to explore. We would like all customers to get as MUCH value as possible from our services. We look forward to you contacting us, at 240-426-6691, please ask for GP.
Tech: Ankur seemed honest and told me it would be cheaper to bring it in than have him rebuild the operating system. He's a nice kid, but Geeks on-site seems a bit expensive.
