Overall

Be very careful with Brake Team and recommend you steer away from their services. They do not have the expertise, tools, and trained mechanics they claim to have.

Point in fact: I recently believed in Brake Team’s commitment to save me money as compared to an auto dealer. They claim to have trained auto mechanics with all the necessary tools to perform the work as compared to a dealer. In so believing I agreed to have Brake Team perform the necessary services to perform a complete and comprehensive overhaul to my vehicles brakes, ball joints, and front U-joints, which included new rotors, calipers, ball joints, new brake fluid, front U-joints, shocks, and labor.

My problems started immediately with trouble lights that would not go away. Initially I was informed that the trouble lights will go out after I drive the truck away. The trouble lights did not go away even after two return visits to Brake team. In frustration I took my problems to an ASE Certified Master Technician (i.e. Dealer) who is trained and has the professional tools to diagnose the trouble lights or codes and to diagnose the work performed by Brake Team.

Come to find out that Brake Team did not correctly install the left and right speed sensors, which were broken off. Parts such as the speed sensor brackets on both the left and right front axle were completely missing. The brake caliper boots were installed incorrectly or backwards. The upper ball joints were damaged from heavy pounding such as a hammer, which can be avoided by installing the ball joints with a press.

After confronting Brake Team with the ASE diagnosis report and necessary repair costs to make the vehicle safe to drive, Brake Team is avoiding my claim and basically hoping that I will go away.

You most likely will that pay less by agreeing to work with Brake Team as compared to an ASE certified mechanic such as a dealer. It’s your decision to make, but remember you’re placing yourself and loved ones into harm’s way with an improper brake job. After all the brakes on your car is a very necessary safety feature to any vehicle.

CONSIDER YOURSELF WARNED.
