Porterville Adult School is part of the Porterville Unified School District and provides various educational classes for adults. Its social studies department provides classes in civics, economics, and United States and world history. Porterville Adult School also provides diploma programs in various science subjects, including life science, physical science, math and environmental science. The school offers distance learning courses through videotape and audiotape, and online instruction. Porterville Adult School also offers various vocational training courses that include firefighting, nursing, retail merchandising, drawing design process, engineering, communication systems accounting and computer application. Additionally, it provides special classes for ersons with physical disabilities. Porterville Adult School is approved by the California Department of Education's Compliance Review Board.
