        Port Arthur Refinery, commissioned in 1901, has a capacity to produce more than 320,000 barrels of oil per day. The refinery employs a staff of over 500 individuals. Its other refinery units include fluid catalytic cracking, coker and crude. Port Arthur Refinery deals in the production of conventional, premium and reformulated gasoline, as well as diesel, jet fuel, petroleum coke, sulfur and petrochemical products. The refinery is spread over an area of more than 2,500 acres. Its location features a logistics system, which includes access to Gulf Coast waterborne crude oil via the refinery docks in Texas. Port Arthur Refinery is a part of Valero Energy Corporation, which owns and operates nearly 15 refineries throughout the United States, Canada and the Caribbean. The parent company is one of the largest retail operators in the U.S. It offers products under the Valero, Diamond Shamrock, Shamrock, Ultramar and Beacon brands.
