Single tooth replacement or small gaps – This restoration requires a single implant placed in the jawbone where it will create an artificial tooth root. This provides a firm foundation for your natural looking crown placed by your restorative dentist.
Bridges
Several teeth or larger gaps – In this type of restoration, a partial prosthesis (fixed bridge) may be used and may only require two or three implants.

Oral Surgery
The inside of a healthy person’s mouth is lined with a special type of skin (mucosa) that is smooth and coral pink in color. Any significant lesions or alterations in this appearance could be a sign of a pathological process or a cancerous growth. The most serious of these is oral cancer. Dr. Begley strongly encourages patients and general dentists to regard these areas with urgency. The Center for Oral Surgery can perform a biopsy (removing a suspicious area of tissue) and send it to a lab for accurate diagnosis and proper evaluation giving the patient a more effective treatment that could restore their health and prevent extensive damage.

General Dentistry
Dr. Randal Begley graduated from Missouri State University in Springfield, Missouri, in 1986. He attended the University of Missouri – Kansas City (UMKC) School of Dentistry, graduating in 1991. Immediately following graduation, Dr. Begley entered the United States Navy. He completed a one-year General Practice Residency (GPR) at Great Lakes Naval Base, followed by 2 years of general dentistry serving on the USS Whidbey Island at Little Creek, VA, taking him all over South America and Africa. His last year was spent at Oceana Naval Base in Virginia Beach, VA. After the Navy, he began residency training in oral and maxillofacial surgery at Truman Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri. He also attended UMKC School of Medicine, obtaining his MD degree in 1999. He completed his residency training in 2001. Dr. Begley is a Diplomat of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
