I have recommended Dr. Robert Schwartz, of Cognitive Dynamic Associates, to several close friends and family members and have witnessed their positive (and sometimes dramatic) outcomes. While it has been about twenty-five years since my own therapy with Dr. Schwartz, the cognitive changes that resulted have remained amazingly permanent. When I began treatment, I was suffering from agoraphobia; most of the time, I could not leave my house (even though I attempted only very short distances) without an anxiety attack characterized by a pounding heart, sweaty palms, dizziness, and a terrifying sense of impending doom. Not in my wildest dreams did I imagine that I would one day be free of the prison of agoraphobia to enjoy the freedom to travel that I do today. I have traveled extensively domestically and even visited my son while he was in college in London. What a gift as a Mom!! In addition, I completed two additional college degrees at a college that I would never have driven to alone when agoraphobic symptoms prevented it. Furthermore, my new-found abilities enhanced my sense of self-worth considerably.



I believe that, in addition to being extremely intelligent and well-educated, Dr. Schwartz possesses a rare inherent wisdom about life and living that helped me to see issues clearly despite my emotional chaos at the time. Before that, I later realized, I could not see the proverbial forest for the trees (much as I hate cliches as a writing teacher, this one is too accurate to pass up). Truly, I felt at the time, and still do, that during therapy, I experienced a series of epiphanies because of my therapist's wise perspective and his skill in clarifying emotionally-complicated issues for me, enabling me to view the issues and situations with new rationality. My therapy experience was indeed life-changing.



Also,it doesn't hurt that the friends whom I have referred feel indebted to me for life!!
