I purchased a renovated home from a CDC in Baltimore. Cummins Appliance supplies all the appliances for renovations done by the CDC. In my purchase agreement with the CDC I negotiated an upgrade in appliances; however the CDC required me to buy the upgrades from Cummins. Service from Cummins has been horrible.
1st they did not install the washer and dryer the way I asked them to – and they agreed to.
2nd when they installed the gas range and did not install it correctly and gas was leaking. I called BGE – they sent a man out and he found the leak at the range connection point. I had to pay a handyman to fix the problem with proper pipe sealant.
3rd when they installed the range they broke the electric receptacle and my handyman have to replace the receptacle. I found out about the receptacle because the range would work, then not work, repeatedly as the electric power came on and off. I am concerned that the installers may have caused the electronic controls of the range to be damaged.
I called Cummins and spoke to Mr. Cummins, he told me they would not send out a repair person because they are not a certified repair representative for Samsung. He told me I had to call Samsung but relented when I told him I wanted him to come and get the range and refund my money and said he would personally call Samsung and have them contact me.
Samsung called me after a week or so. I told them my story and that I wanted a factory rep to come out and check the electronics on my range. Samsung told me they could send out a rep and if they found a problem it would be repaired free of charge under my guarantee; however if there were no problems I would have to pay for the service call (starting at $75). I asked to speak to a Samsung customer service supervisor. Several days later one called me, I repeated my story and got the same response. I asked to speak to the supervisor's supervisor and was told one would call me. It has been several weeks and I have received no call back.

The reason that I have gone to Cummins for years is their service. Once an appliance has a problem, they are out there is a couple days (with the warranty). They will keep coming back and work with you until the issue is resolved. With the new appliances i.e. front loading washers, I found that service is a necessity. The sales team told me my washer was the best and I've had FIVE service calls in a year. With a toddler, this is unacceptable. We'll see how it goes trying to get a replacement!

Excellent Company & Service

I highly recommend Cummins Appliance Co. Their price was competitive and their Service goes beyond expectations.



I called Cummins Appliance on a Monday to find out if they had a refrigerator model I wanted and they said they had just received one in and could deliver it on that Saturday as I requested (so I didn't have to take a day off from work) and would haul my old refrigrator away for just $10 and $30 to set up the new (reasonable compared to other appliance stores). I was not sure if the refrigerator would fit width-wise so the owner, Harvey Cummins volunteered to meet me at lunch and measure for himself to be sure. (Above and beyond the call of duty....nice service) The installers arrived on time and were courteous and knowledgeable.



When I incorrectly thought they had delivered the wrong refrigerator they were willing to take it back with no argument and no charge and had told their men to put the doors back on the refrigerator. After checking other stores by phone immediately, I realized that this model was the one I had wanted but the model with the icemaker just came with a little different configuration in the freezer compartment than the one I saw in the store with just the water. I called back and asked that they continue delivering it. The installer politely removed the doors again (no easy job in the hot sun) and although they spent over 2 hours at my house due to my mixup, they were polite and did an excellent job and did not charge me anything additional.



I would highly recommend Cummins Appliance Co. to anyone who wants an appliance at a fair price and good service.
