My Family and I were headed East on I76 to the Children's Hospital Of Philadelphia (CHOP) at around 12 am, when suddenly our car broke down due to transmission issue. I called my insurance company which I have Road Side Assistance with, and they quoted me a ridiculous price $500 for 71 miles, I also called AAA so I could buy their membership, they said: "10 days before I'm able to use the towing service.

Now I had no other choice but to call local, after many calls to different places Hooked Inc Towing was the better choice.

DO NOT USE AT ALL COSTS!

These people are rude and will extort you for money! I can attest for the other review, similar things happened to me. If I could give this company a negative rating I WOULD!

I tried to get my car back the day after an accident that I told them I had my own car trailer, but they coerced me into signing at the accident because they were "helping out the police by getting it off the road, and its probably too dangerous to drive anywhere else, we'll bring it to our shop and you can come get it tomorrow" (their 'shop' is called C.S.F) and when I called to come pay for the tow/storage and to pick it up myself I was screamed at over the phone to "I don't know- bring like $500 in cash or the title of my car, we don't know how much money it will cost until you get here" screamed at some more when I asked for details and then was hung up on, I thought maybe I had just gotten a disgruntled worker about to go on a lunch break. A polite woman answered the phone when I called back and she told me my bill was $750! I told them I didn't understand how a tow and one night's storage could be that much when I was quoted at much lower could be so much and I wanted to know my options, I was connected to another male voice who sounded like the one that hung up on me in the first place, he said no so I stated my case. A tow and one day's storage should not have exceeded $300, let alone $750. He screamed at me and insulted me when I told him I had photographs of the accident and there was nothing to be cleaned up at the scene of the incident, which was a chunk of their charge came from, he then hung up on me, so I sent my mechanic down to see it and they turned him away (which violates their own rules!!)

They've called me relentlessly and sent me threats in the mail after I kept sending them to my voicemail.

All this and they still haven't even sent me a bill!



Google search their address and you'll see a vacant lot surrounded by junk metal with lots of probably stolen cars in it! They have an F with the BBB, they also have lost cases for theft of a vehicle and extortion in the Philly small claims courts.

I was told they probably use police scanners and send out a representative to the scene of an accident before the police get there. They are very nice and will tell you anything to hook your car, don't fall for it! They're called HOOKED for a reason! It would be better if they called themselves CROOKS because that's what they are! They prey on people in need, find a reputable sanctioned tow or pay for AAA, it's totally worth it. Lesson learned.

NEVER use this tow company. They have atrocious costumer service on top of being scam artist. In the process of try to get information about retrieving my vehicle from this place I was spoken to horribly on the phone by a man who claimed his name was Bob. Who also hung up on me twice when I tried to get basic information like where my car was and how much the storage fee was. Then after telling me rudely that I would have to call him Monday morning to get the billing department and hanging up again I finally Google them and found a different number then the one on my tow agreement the woman I spoke with was much nicer and apologize for the rude male I spoke with and confirmed that she did not know how much the storage fee were either and billing couple assist me on Monday if I called her back. Monday came and I went to retrieve my car. I was told that my bill was $700 and a big portion of the bill was for a clean up fee from the scene. I explained that there was nothing at the scene to clean but they insisted that they were charged a fee by the tow truck driver and in turned charged me. Then they processed to tell me they take only cash. However after returning home I googled the company again and found a website and on the website it states they take cash or credit. I will be contacting the better business Bureau as well as proceeding with legal action against this company. They are crooks who wanted my car because they are truly just a junk yard masked as a tow company and because they couldn't get my car they took an excessive amount of my money. I repeat never use this company. I hope this review helps to keep anyone else getting scammed by these low lives.
