Joanne Perilstein Ph.D., Licensed Psychologist and Personal Coach I enjoy helping people to feel better. Typically when a client comes to see me there is something about their life or their circumstances that is making them feel unhappy. The unhappiness can take the form of sadness, anxiety or just plain stress. Sometimes the circumstances of a person's life cause unhappiness. Moving to a new city or suffering a major loss or a divorce can be the source of much pain. I enjoy working with my clients to understand their personal, unique circumstances so that we can work together to find ways to relieve their difficulties. I have taken life long courses to improve my skills. I took an extra year of training to help those with depression, stress anxiety and health problems. Finally, my most recent training has taught me to help people find pathways to maximize their authentic happiness. I was fortunate enough to have studies with Aaron Beck, M.D. at the University of Pennsylvania in a Post Doctoral Fellowship. I also have studied Authentic Happiness with Marty Seligman, Ph.D. of Penn. That means that I can blend both removal of sickness and teach people to thrive. I am also a Certified Hypnotist.
