General Info

Founded in 1964, Community Legal Services provides free legal advice and representation to low income residents of Philadelphia. It assists clients in fighting consumer fraud and predatory lending, preventing homelessness, ensuring fair treatment at workplace and protecting women, children and the elderly people. It provides legal services in the areas of housing, bankruptcy, loans and collections, birth certificate amendments, medical assistance, child custody and community economic development. Additionally, Community Legal Services deals in child support mortgages, name change, credit card debt, divorce, student loans, food stamps and unemployment compensation. It has received several awards and recognitions. Community Legal Services employs more than 40 attorneys and maintains offices in Philadelphia.
