Spinal Decompression
Spinal decompression therapy works by opening the space between the vertebrae, creating a vacuum inside the disc itself which draws the bulging material back into place. By reducing the disc bulge, the doctor hopes to reduce the irritation on the nerves exiting the spinal cord near that bulge. And by reducing the irritation on the nerves, you will feel less pain. In addition, this process also attempts to restore the appropriate nutrient supply to the starved disc bulge, resulting in a healthy vertebral disc.
