If I told my best friend about this place, I'd say that I like Dr. Mark a whole lot. Never met a nicer guy. His staff - most of them - are very friendly and seem knowledgeable. But another thing I'd say is that they are very expensive. They used up my entire insurance allotment for the year on one root canal, put a temporary crown in, which then fell out 10 weeks later. At least half the fillings I've had put in there have come out.



But perhaps worst of all, he has the radio tuned to K-Love, a contemporary Christian station that plays throughout the office, which he forces everyone to listen to - which might explain the rotten attitude of the receptionist. The music is just awful. It would certainly contribute to my bad mood.



But it gets better. I had a cleaning scheduled and I couldn't make it. They rescheduled it. Then the receptionist lady calls me a second time the day before and I informed her I couldn't make it again. She proceeded to lecture me in a very condescending way, and told me she would have to charge me $50. Then, pretending to "take it easy" on me, she said she would let me slide "this time."



At that point, I had no intention of going back. So she calls me this morning, asks am I coming in tomorrow, and I said, "No, I have a doctor's appointment," which I did. She begins to lecture me again and I told her I didn't appreciate being lectured like a child. I know their time is important. But so is mine, and I won't be lectured by a receptionist or anyone else for that matter. Nor will I continue to use a dentist who told me to my face that they don't "use the good stuff" if they know someone will be back for a real crown later, and told his assistant not to make the temporary crown "too good, or he won't come back in for the real one."

I am very happy with Mark Owens DMD and his staff. I have a regular cleaning and repair work done periodically. My whole family prefers Mark Owens DMD and his professional staff.
