Prime Van Lines

The foreman (Fred?) was very friendly and polite. He even went out of his way to return items that were left on the truck. This was a local move, spanning two days. Our experience was as follows:



Asside from our forman, there was a different set of workers each of the two days. There was ONE packer on day one who was frankly rude and careless. On day two we had a man who did not understand any English and was not allowed on [military] post bc he lacked proper ID.



Day one: The crew showed up @ 10AM and breaked for lunch. At first SOME care was exercised in packing our fragile items. Day two: the crew arrived around 11AM for more packing and loading. It was obvious (during the unpacking process) that toward the end, items were just thrown in a box - not even wrapped or padded. Our crib was not loaded onto the truck. Our belongings did not have inventory stickers (bc the boss said it wasn't necessary since the move was local) until the crew was too late getting to a weigh station - so all of us did inventory on my driveway in the dark w/a flashlight.



Our movers crammed a three-day move into two days and as a result, our personal property suffered. This was our 3rd move in 5 years w/my husband's job and this was by far the worst experience. Our very expensive, imported bedroom set was badly damaged; boxes were not labeled and the ones that were lacked adequate info. Stuff labeled "laundry room" and "fine china" ended up in the back of the garage.



I do not reccomend this company.

I just used Prime for a move cross-country. I could go on and on but I'll sum it up by saying that our stuff arrived 26 days after it was picked up--we were told it would take 5-10 days.



We were promised 5 wardrobe boxes. They showed up with one and threw the rest of our hanging clothes in boxes, which arrived in a tangled mess, wrinkled, one dress torn.



Everything they packed (pictures/art) was damaged in some way. Every picture frame was dented or scratched. One picture had broken glass, one mirror was broken.



Worst of all, a very valuable antique chair arrived with a broken leg and crushed back--the upholstery on the back was torn it was pushed in so hard.



Halfway through our stuff being delivered, I noticed 6-7 boxes in the house that were not ours. I had to tell the moving guys about it and they moved them out. While they were unpacking our stuff I noticed them standing on top of someone else's dining room table.



I made it clear that anything that said "bedroom" on the box should go upstairs and of course that didn't happen. So we had to move most of the stuff upstairs ourselves.



Just a really, really bad experience--they did not take good care of our stuff at all.

My move to Cali went well and the price was very reasonable. The whole crew was great! Customer service could be a bit more responsive to my emails, but for the kind of deal I got there is nothing much to complain about. I'd use them again anytime.

Did a small move with Prime just a few days ago. Surprisingly, they were pretty good despite their A+ BBB rating. Everything went just as I planned and there was no need to provide them extra motivation or question their parenthood. A cat peed on one of my boxes so minus one star for that.
