Shaver Street Marine

I purchased a late model used Yamaha 150 4-stroke from Josh Piver in Dec. 2011. It was reconditioned and in great shape. While it ran well, it did tend to choke down in a narrow R.P.M. range of 1500 to 1700. I brought it back and they put it on the computer and quickly corrected the problem, at no charge. I have found Josh to be consistently courteous and knowledgeable about Yamaha. Recently the boat fuel gauge quit working. Another repair service told me it was a bad gauge. Shaver St. determined that the problem was only a corroded sender wire. I have been consistently satisfied.

This is a awesome place to buy a used outboard.Dean is a very experienced guy and his motors come with a 6 month warranty.If you go with them to install your motor,they will inspect your cables and fuel lines to assure you want run into a costly mistake.The guys are honest and will tell you the truth about things.From now on ,I'm using these guys for all my boating needs.Oh yeah they warranty covers parts and labor.

They don't deserve a star. My boat was taken in for a basic tune up. They said the throttle cable and box was not a match for the engine so they changed it out and I have more problems now than when it went in. I took it out for the fisrt time and it will not go over 5 mph. When I took it back instead of the dumb asses taking it out to the water and running it they put it in a barrel and told me this was top notch testing. I stayed around while they fixed it the second time a he told me it was the spark plugs they put in for the tune up, and sent me on my way. No worries until I took it back out and still no more than 5 mph. They won't even consider the throttle cable they replaced doesn't have the right tension. The guy who runs the place has no idea how to work on boats. And when I asked if they were certified mechanics they got pissy. Not too proud if they r. The worst customer service I have ever experienced.

shaver street marine pasadena tx. i perchased a moter from that place major mistake dean told me he had just put a water pump in and pulled the thermostats out tested it ran great i would have no problims.took it back after the first time i had it on the water dean had my boat a month it would not idle and could not get it started they never called me i had to go in there and complane they said they just fixed it took it to the water same problim took it back it stayed there another week said they had fixed it they did'nt fix nothin dean said my 30 day warrenty was done took that boat home pulled the flywheel burnt wires on the stater staring right at me not only that but the themostats were still in but they had striped the threads on the head so i guise thats why he told he had taken them out mite make a good junk yard but thats it watch them they lye anything to get your money.
