My passion for collecting began some 30 years ago around age 10 or 11. In those days, I enjoyed trying to complete my "US Type" and various other collections that I would proudly keep housed in the brown Danco albums. I began selling coins around the age of 15, in order to be able to purchase my first car.

That was decades ago! I say this because business back then was more simple. There was no internet, no one had a cell phone, etc. Business transactions were handled by personally interacting with one another. If you enjoyed the person you were doing business with, you would feel a personal connection if you will...and there would be no need to even consider going anywhere else. Why would you? If only I had known about them back in those days! I would never had to 'experiment' in finding a dealer who I felt was treating me fairly.

Well, Universal Coin on Walnut in Pasadena still does business just like they did back then. Feel free to pull up a stool and chat with these guys. They have been doing this a long time. They are happy to share their knowledge with you, as I seem to learn something new each time I stop in. Their business model is simple. Treat everyone with honesty and integrity no matter how big or small the transaction is. Chances are pretty good that the next time you are considering purchasing or selling your coins or silver/gold bullion, that you will want to give them the first shot at your business. (And you may even tell a friend!) With so many business failing to provide service on a 'personal' level, it is refreshing to know that I can get that good old fashioned service any time that I am dealing with my coins/or silver bullion.

I have dealt with many types of people through the years. I am thankful that I no longer have to wonder if I will be taken advantage of when dealing with items of value. These guys want your future business. Writing this review is a small way for me to show my appreciation for the personal service I receive each time I stop by their shop on Walnut.

Bob Dague and Steve Gorman, are The BEST Coin Dealers in the business. I have been doing business, with this establishment, since 1967, it is the frendliest, old time, sit down and talk coins, Coin Stores that is still around. They are very RARE these days. Like a fine rare coin itself! They treat and trust all customers, like it was in the 50's and 60's. I easily gave them 5 Stars. These Gentlemen are in the business, for the love of coins itself.
