My cat was diagnosed with diabetes by Dr. Dana at the Ellenton animal hospital. I had notice right away my cat was drinking a lot of water and urinating large volumes and brought him to the clinic. Though my cat now was very thin and he seemed to be eating little his surgar levels were normal range every time I checked it at home and he always came out looking for food. I thought he was getting better but just hated the healthy md low glucose food. Then he started leaking dark fowl smelling substance from is back side region. I thought this was his gland so did Dr walsat when I spoke to him over the phone. When I brought my cat in the next day Dr. Susanne said it wasn't his glad. He had lost control of his bowels and he was so thin 7 lbs she convinced me I would be selfish to let him go on suffering. Pretty much everyone on staff took turns convincing me beforemail I agreed to put my baby to sleep. After all my pain regret and guilt came to a calm I began reading everything is could find about cat diabetes and found a cat Dr who specializes in cat diabetes. I found out that YOU SHOULD ALWAYS CHECK BLOOD SUGAR LEVEL BEFORE GIVING INSULIN OR IT WILL PROVE FATAL. MD HILL FOOD has the highest at 16% carbohydrates A NO NO FOR DIABETES.
