Bay Radiology & Associates

My rheumatologist ordered a bone density scan from Bay Radiology’s Women’s Imaging Center, After calling eleven times and leaving unanswered voice mails over the last two months, I called and was astonished to not only reach a person but get an appointment only two days later, The next day, I received a call, saying “This is Bay Radiology Women’s” when the phone call was cut off, likely due to the phone issues after Hurricane Michael. I waited a few minutes, but no one called back. So I called the main number. When asked whom I was calling and I told them I had no idea, explaining that they did not get a chance to give me their name. They said “sorry, but we don’t know either”. I drove 1-1/2 hours for my appointment and no one could find me in their appointment list. Finally, after they dug deeper, the girls at the front desk said that Jaye, the insurance clerk had made a note on the computer that she had called both myself and the rheumatologist stating that the insurance company required authorization from the rheumatologist and that she had canceled the appointment. She did not call me to tell me that the appointment was cancelled. Then I asked to speak with Jaye. They said she was gone until Thursday of the following week on vacation. So I stated, she must have had a bad case of “ vacationitus"; cutting a lot of things short, lying to get everything done! Not calling me when it was obvious that I lived so far away is unconscionable and my wife and I will never use the Women’s Imaging Center again! It is also obvious why it is so easy to get an appointment in only a couple of days if you think about it!
