Bay Center-Genesis

I was offered a position and went in for orientation very sick! It was my understanding my start date would be that Monday but it wasn't...they were having orientation in Jacksonville and I was to start Tues. I told the trainer I was very sick and this was very unlike me. I'm usually very upbeat. I was falling asleep which is appalling and unprofessional! I didn't know what to do? I prrofusely apologized and she told me it was fine. I didn't know whether to excuse myself and didn't understand why she didn't just send me home? I later went to the Dr and discovered I had strep throat, no thyroid function, missing vital nutrients, vitamins and minerals. My body did not have the capacity to stay awake! I also wanted to go to Jax that wkend due to my grandmother having shunt placement for dialysis but did not want to miss my first day of work. I could have attended the orientation there!! As i said, the woman doing the orientation told me it was fine...it obviously wasn't fine b/c they rescinded their offer w/out hearing me out, wouldn't accept a Dr's note or anything! It was physically impossible for my body to remain awake! I would NEVER sleep during orientation! She was going over a computer documentation program I've been using over a year also and she was well aware of this! There was no reason for me to sit there. She lied and told HR I slept for 2 hrs. Untrue! I tried everything to keep myself up and alert and i was in and out the last hour. Through no fault of my own. Don't lie and tell me its fine when its not. I even asked if i could attend the orientation in Jacksonville...its my hometown, I have a house there, my family's there. Now I have no income and resigned from a perfectly fine job to help out a new company! They're missing out on a great therapist and its sad to me that they lack tolerance. What about the patients? That scares me!
