Buddy Bear Weekend is a special yearly fundraising event that concentrates on collecting brand new stuffed bears for children in trauma. The collection of these brand new teddy bears is given to the EMS and Emergency response Officers throughout any individual county and state as well as the local fire, police and sheriff's departments. Buddy Bear Weekend is a coalition of community leadership working together to make sure that the children in trauma are helped and comforted any time those children are in a traumatic situation. Buddy Bear Weekend is a 3 day event that consists of The Buddy Bear Parade with all of the pre-school children, teachers and parents in the county arriving at the opening ceremonies with bears in hand and are led by each school and ushered into the Buddy Bear Den. The Buddy Bear Den houses all information on Child safety, Literacy and Going Green. Inside the Buddy Bear Den is the Kids Zone and The Buddy Bear Bin. The Kids Zone is non stop entertainment and education for the children. The Buddy Bear Bin houses the entire collection of brand new stuffed bears to be distributed to all of the Emergency response officers and trauma centers in the communities. Everyone from local city, county and state officials help during this special weekend and are present during the entire event. everything from a free child ID program from the sheriff's office to information on Fire safety, backyard swimming safety, literacy, reading, coloring and more are all showcased inside the Buddy Bear den. This year, the Buddy Bear Den will be held at the City of Port St. Lucie Civic center for the entire Treasure Coast from Vero Beach to Hobe Sound, Florida. M3 Productions and The City of Port St. Lucie Civic Center along with the Buddy Bear Weekend Organization have partnered together to showcase the First Annual Treasure Coast Buddy Bear Weekend.
