This Is Worship

As a non-denominational Christian searching for deeper roots, the Orthodox Divine Liturgy has infinitely transcended all other experiences of worship. Yet, at Holy Resurrection, you will find not only surroundings fit for heaven, but a priest and community that are welcoming, warm, and accessible. If you're thinking of visiting, visit their website for service schedules and other useful information, then contact the priest and let him know you'll be attending. I'm sure you'll be surprised at the gracious response you receive, as I was. After attending many churches I've certainly found such receptions quite rare. Find out for yourself!

Overall
welcoming environment

I have been attending and been part of HROC for a little over 2 years and If you are interested in learning, understanding, and growing in your orthodox faith regardless of where you come from( as for me from ETHIOPIA), your culture, or where you are in your faith, it is a very very welcoming church. There are many different people from different backgrounds all there for one reason (OUR ORTHODOX FAITH).

For me, the humility and welcoming personality of our priest when I first inquired about HROC made all the difference. He is accepting of any one who is willing to learn and grow in the orthodox faith. He does not pressure or judge our lack of understanding the orthodox faith and is always willing to answer questions on our faith.

A lovely parish!

I spent about a year occasionally attending Holy Resurrection for weekday (and an occasional Sunday) services (it's very close to my office) before I made the decision to transfer from another parish. Everyone is warm and welcoming. The priest makes the effort to spend time with visitors at coffee hour on Sunday or talking after Vespers (whether they're by themselves or are the guest of a parishioner), which really made an impression on me. I appreciate that there is a wide age range represented among the parishioners - I've been at other churches that concentrated on a specific age group, which can leave others feeling isolated. Services are done reverently and nothing is "slap dash." The music is wonderful and hooked me from the start. There is education for all ages - Sunday school through the high school grades, and a great adult study group, both of which meet on Sunday morning during the school year. The play of light in the new church (finished in 2005) is a joy to watch. Needless to say, I love my church! :-)

Great American Orthodox Church

I moved to the area about several years ago and spent several months searching for a church. Most of the Orthodox Churches in the area are very ethnic. This one has services completely in English and has a wonderful mix of people from different backgrounds. The congregation is welcoming, and the priest is wonderful. The music is superb! I recommend it for anyone looking for an American Orthodox Church.

New to church

We belonged to another Orthodox church which conducted services in a different language. We were looking for a church that would provide services in English. We feel very comfortable in this church, with the people and the priest. I would recommend this church to anyone, especially people coming from ethnic churches who feel more comfortable with English as a first language.

Open and Friedly People.

Originally from Belarus, Orthodox Christians, we joined this church in 2004-5. The Atmosphere, People, both older generation and youth, kids - are very friendly and open.

Great Church

My wife and I joined Holly Resurrection Orthodox Church about two years ago. The people at church are very friendly and were excited to have us at the church. The church is a mix of people from different backgrounds including converts. Also, the priest is great and the church is beautiful. Google it and find the website and see for yourself.
