About 5 years ago I purchased some very expensive hearing aids from West Coast Hearing. The medical and audiology services were fine. The hearing aids excellent, but the cost and subsequent efforts to get reimbursement was a nightmare. I called, wrote letters, contacted the Better Business Bureau and, even after repeatedly telling me I would receive my reimbursement, it did not come. After about two years, I gave up. Then just recently I learned about the CA Department of Consumer Affairs. I filed a complaint with them and with the State Hearing Licensing Agency. Within two weeks I heard from both agencies. The DCA investigated the case after I submitted my documentation and within an additional two weeks, I received my reimbursement. Thank you DCA. I hope others who use West Coast Hearing and Balance will be made away of this illegal business practice of not reimbursing to customers what is due to them. It is sad that we place our trust in a medical service and then they try to cheat us.
