Great instructors, comfortable learning environment, and a great value (CPL class is about 40% cheaper than other places I checked out)!

 I've taken my CPL class and the NRA Personal Protection Outside the Home class with them; I learned a lot and thoroughly enjoyed both. I will definitely take their more advanced classes very soon. The instructors I had (Dan Grimes & Ryan Decker) were very knowledgeable and answered all of my questions.

The no-pressure environment makes it easy to learn without fear of being judged or mocked for lack of knowledge/experience.

I have had the chance to experience The ASR Group on 2 seperate occasions and was impressed every time! I took my CPL Class with them back in June of 2013 and had the most fun on a gun range I've ever had! Their main location is a 17 acre facility in Scotts, Michigan. It's an old farm house (A-Frame) where they have converted the bottom portion into a classroom. It's not your typical classroom but it's comfrotable and they make you feel relaxed the moment you show up. My Instructors were Dan Grimes and Ryan Decker. They are very funny and tell great stories, but they really know their stuff when it comes to guns too. I wasn't a "new" shooter but I hadn't shot a pistol in about 10 years when I decided to take the class. Ryan was excellent on the range, working with me personally and reassuring me not to be nercous. He got me to focus on my fundamentals and I was shooting like a pro in no time!



I decided to sign up and take one of their 2 Day Advanced Classes in August and HOLY SMOKES I'm glad I did! They really put me through the ringer but I learned so much from their Personal Protection Outside The Home class like drawing from a concealed holster the "right way" and shooting an attacker up close. We even did some shooting and moving, which I was not allowed to do on my local gun club's range so that was awesome! I plan on taking their Combative Handgun class next and maybe their Combative Carbine because I just bought an AR15 abd want to eanr how to really use it.



Bottom line is, if you're looking to get your Michigan CPL you need to see these guys. There is no pressure, no one screams at you and you'll have an awesome time! If you're looking to learn more of the super cool SWAT Team stuff or just be a more smart shooter, then take some of their advanced classes. You can't go wrong with ASR Group! J.
