Established in 1982, H2Outfitters has evolved from a whitewater instructional center to a powerhouse of sea kayak instruction on the East Coast. Located in Maine, it's a small company with a dedicated staff who not only teach but guide and lead trips up and down the Eastern seaboard, the Canadian Maritimes, and overseas as well. International destinations include Italy, Iceland, Ireland, Belize, Costa Rica, the Bahamas, and Japan. In fact, H2Outfitters has been recognized by National Geographic Adventure magazine for the two consecutive years that they selected "The Best Adventure Travel Companies on Earth", 2008 & 2009. H2O also offers stand up paddleboard, "SUP", instruction and, rentals for both boards and sea kayaks at it's magical location between Orr's and Bailey Islands, just 13 miles off of coastal route 1 in Maine. Located 2.5 hours from Boston and 6 hours from NYC, it's a convenient destination for a weekend get-a-way or a longer stay. The Harpswell Islands region offers an authentic "taste of Maine" with it's working fishing communities, clear waters, and multitude of islands just offshore. Lot's of history here too, from Harriet Beecher Stowe to Admiral Peary, there are many stories to tell. Wildlife abounds, with harbor seals, loons, bald eagles, and even the wayward porpoise or whale providing the live entertainment at water's eye level! H2O's signature programs include 3 hour tours, day tours and the ever popular sunset excursions around the islands.
