Plastic Surgeons

Botox
Botox® is a purified protein derivative of onabotulinumtoxinA, prepared in a very dilute form of the medication. Botox® affects the nerve endings of the muscles where it is injected to weaken the muscle, and thereby softens wrinkles in the face. The medication is injected by a trained health care professional, such as a physician or certified Physician Assistant (PAC), or ARNP. After injection, you will notice improvement in the wrinkles in about 10 days.
Brow Lift
These are terms many doctors’ offices commonly use to refer to non-surgical facelift alternatives. In such procedures, a combination of chemo-denervation agents and filler material may be used to achieve a more youthful look, without actually having surgery. As an example, such a procedure may involve using Botox® for treatment of glabellar frown lines and to give a mild lateral brow lift, combined with use of Juvederm® to fill in the wrinkles of the nasal labial folds.

Liposuction
While there are several different liposuction techniques, the tumescent technique is probably the most common type performed. Prior to removing fat, tumescent fluid is injected into the treatment area through a large hollow tube known as an injection cannula. This solution is usually composed of saline solution (salt water,) lidocaine (a local anesthetic), and epinephrine, and it helps to numb the treatment area, control blood loss, and facilitate fat removal.

Breast augmentation is one of the most rewarding procedures for a surgeon to perform. The female breast is often considered by society to be one of the central aspects of a woman’s femininity.
Breast Reduction
The purpose of breast reduction surgery is to remove the excess breast tissue and skin and restore the breast to a size more proportionate to one’s body. In most cases this will help to alleviate strain on the neck and shoulders, as well as enhance one’s body image, and perhaps even make it easier to find clothing that fit properly.

Mastopexy is the medical term for what is commonly known as a breast lift, and the purpose of mastopexy surgery is to correct mammary ptosis or droop of the breast.
Breast Reconstruction
The results of breast reconstruction can be relatively natural in appearance, though the reconstructed breast may never look or feel exactly the same as the breast a woman had prior to mastectomy.

Reconstruction of the breast after mastectomy or lumpectomy surgery is possible through a combination of plastic surgery techniques and can dramatically improve a woman’s self-image and quality of life.
Thigh Lift
Many people experience the development of unwanted, localized deposits of fat in their bodies as they age. Both hormonal factors and genetic predispositions likely also play a major role in their development. These regions may persist in spite of proper diet and exercise, and contribute to the disproportionate appearance of the figure. Liposuction works by removing excess fatty tissue to reshape the body contours and create a slimmer appearance. Liposuction can be performed alone, or it may also be performed in conjunction with other procedures such as abdominoplasty (tummy-tuck), brachioplasty (arm-lift), or thigh-lift surgery. Liposuction is not an effective treatment for cellulite or obesity. Individuals, who consider liposuction should be healthy and relatively fit, have firm and elastic skin, and good underlying muscle tone. We prefer that they are also within 30% of their ideal body weight.
Face Lift
At our practice we do not use facelift surgery to change one’s fundamental appearance, but rather focus on making one look more youthful. Please also understand that although we may be able to make you look considerably younger, there is no way to stop the aging process.
Neck Lift
Facelift surgery may be broken down into different components, and which components of surgery patients select will be dependent on what concerns they have about their appearance and what they wish to achieve. These components may include upper and/or lower eyelid blepharoplasty surgery (eyelid lift), brow lift, mid-facelift, mini-facelift, or full face and neck lift.

Abdominoplasty
1. A mini-abdominoplasty (partial) typically requires only a single incision, and the area of dissection is not as extensive as in a full abdominoplasty. This is because during a mini-tummy tuck procedure, the position of the navel is not moved (translocated). This procedure is designed for patients who have less extensive looseness to the abdominal wall, and looseness that is only below the navel.

I consider each patient and their needs individually, and I help guide them as to which procedures and types of implants will work best to help them achieve their desired results. Body Contouring
An abdominoplasty can be performed alone, or in conjunction with liposuction to further improve body contouring. For safety reasons, when liposuction is performed in conjunction with abdominoplasty, there may be limitations as to how much fatty tissue may be suction removed at the same time. Neither procedure should be considered as a treatment for obesity. Future pregnancies and substantial changes in weight following a tummy tuck, as well as the presence of scars from prior surgeries may decrease the effectiveness and longevity of treatment.
Laser Resurfacing
In many cases, improvement in the quality of the facial skin may be achieved by performing intensive skin care treatments with Retinol based products and vitamin C, chemical peels, microdermabrasion, or facial laser-resurfacing. These treatments are sometimes done before, during, or after facelift surgery. Procedures are available for both men and women.

Chemical Peels
For optimal results, patients are required to undergo pre-treatment of the skin with a bleaching agent combined with a retinol-based product. There is some down time associated with this procedure, as the facial skin will be very pink for several weeks afterwards. Patients undergoing treatment most avoid sun exposure during the recovery period. Although this procedure has a little longer recovery time than typical chemical peels, it offers substantially more dramatic results with just one treatment. This procedure is usually done under general anesthesia.
