Modern Bridal Shop

I bought my bridesmaid gown from this shop and I must say, it gave me nothing but troubles. If you want it summed up I'd say this: this place is not worth it. To begin with, the staff doesn't really try and help you through the process at all.. Trying to find the right dress can be daunting and it really helps when you have someone to give you good feedback and suggestions. Pretty much the only thing that they did was offer to start a dressing room once it looked like I had 20 pounds of taffeta hanging off of my arm. After which, they wouldn't allow me to take a picture of the gown when I was wearing it so I could send it to the bride-to-be that was in the Netherlands at the time. They told me to look it up online and send her the link. Thing is, when I looked it up online I found it for $40 cheaper... I had to buy it there though, or so they lead me to believe, because otherwise it would never come in on time for the wedding. So I ended up buying the gown and was very surprised a week later when I looked on my bank statement and I was charged over a $100 more than what the dress had on the tag. I called the store and they said they accidentally put it in the system for the incorrect amount. It caught me off guard because they had discussed how popular the dress that I bought was; did this mean that they were overcharging everyone without fixing it or were they just lying? They fixed the problem and after that, I didn't really brood over the ordeal. It wasn't until I went to the store and got a quote on some very simple alterations that I saw a pattern in how this place seemed to do its business. They wanted to charge me $105 for alterations that to me, did not seem hard. Honestly, I had never had to get alterations done before and that price was a little scary. I called a place in my city that I new had a good reputation and got a quote for half the price. I told the employee that I wasn't going to use Modern Bridal for alterations and she asked me how much I was quoted at the other location. After which, she essentially implied that either they were of a very low quality or I was lying, she then said that she would take $5 off of the price. While my dress is pretty and I am happy that I have it, I know that could never, in confidence, recommend this place to anyone.
