At your complimentary new patient exam, your treatment coordinator will take a fast and comfortable 3D Digital scan of your teeth. The doctor will then go over a 3D treatment simulation to show you what your new smile will look like after Aligner treatment. Oral Surgery
Knowledge: Dr. Miller has published articles to illustrate his techniques to other orthodontists and surgeons. He has lectured at national oral surgery meetings (AAOMS) in Las Vegas and Hawaii, as well as to prestigious oral surgery departments, such as the Mayo Clinic.
Jaw Surgery
However, with adults, Dr. Miller and our team explore the idea of jaw surgery (orthognathic surgery) when the upper and lower jaws do not line up correctly and the patient is suffering from severe bite issues. Sometimes the only way to fix the issue is to have the oral surgeon move the jaw to its ideal position. This gives by far the best and most stable long-term results.
Maxillofacial Surgery
He has published a number of articles in orthodontic journals and was recently the editor-in-chief for the Harvard Alumni for the Advancement of Orthodontics ( HDAAO ). Currently he is on the Editorial Board of the prestigious Journal of Clinical Orthodontics ( JCO ). Dr. Miller also has been invited to lecture to other orthodontists and specialists, including at the national American Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery conference in Hawaii in 2014 and Las Vegas in 2016. The world-renowned Mayo Clinic invited Dr. Miller to lecture to their Oral Surgery and Orthodontic departments in Minnesota in 2018.
Tooth Extractions
Bone Grafting
The first step is having the braces placed on all of your teeth by Dr. Miller. The following day, the AOO procedure is done in an office setting under IV sedation. The procedure involves stippling and scoring of the cortical bone around the teeth that are to be moved, in addition to bone grafting. This creates a temporary ‘softening’ of the new bone around teeth and allows the orthodontist to move the teeth into ideal positions in a rapid, safe and stable manner.
