the patio was lovely, but the wait for food was really long! We had a party of 10 and understood that will take longer, but it took almost 2 hours from ordering to get our meal

Overall

Good food and service. Went for Saturday lunch. Had blackened mahi, redfish, and an encrusted catfish. Grilled vegetables and rice on side. All excellent. Fast service, nice waitress. Good variety on the gluten free menu. Only complaint was the rice had too strong of Italian style herb not appropriate for blackened fish. Prices very reasonable. Would gladly eat here again.

Overall

Went here to try their "famous crab cakes" and firecracker shrimp. We ordered these items, their "Fish Taco" and Crawfish Po'boy with "grits." 1) DEVEIN THE SHRIMP!!! come ON! Though you get a lot, the sauce is NOT spiced enough for the name and cloyingly creamy. 2) We sent the crabcakes back....awful crab, worse sauce (no way was there any remoulade included). 3) The fish taco is a Mahi WRAP, overwhelmed by a GIGANTIC flour tortilla which is too bad since the fish was good and well-cooked. Should make it as the name says, "taco" with a small tortilla. 4) understood Cosmo's "version" of grits is made with polenta.....but either way, lousy polenta, worse "grits." On a good note, the staff was attentive and courteous, the manager(?) was sorry about the dissatisfaction and very, VERY apologetic. Crab cakes were not on the bill and a nice piece of keylime cheesecake was given as a good gesture. This however, won't bring us back.

Overall
New Year's Eve Fiasco

We have a vacation home in Orange Beach and frequent this restaurant on a regular basis usually for lunch. In fact it is so popular with our family that we will go several days in a row when on vacation.

On the 29th of December we were there but the food was subpar. Apparently this was their first day reopening following the Christmas Holidays. The waiter or kitchen managed to get my fish rare vs medium and my daughter's well done vs rare. Dessert was not as good as previously but we let it go. The peanut butter pie was lacking in the peanut butter. Everyone has their bad days.

December 31st we returned for lunch just before 2:00PM and to our surprise with the doors open they stated they could not seat us because the kitchen required a 2 hour prep period for the new dinner menu. Not seat your most consistent customers because you needed two hours to up the menu price. The quote manager at that time had the nerve to tell us they were out of food although half the restaurant was still waiting on their food and the door was open. Besides the menu was nearly the same for the evening.

The oil spill made it a bad economy this past summer and even continues to this day.

Is it a good idea to turn away your consistent customers because of an arbitrary 2:00 PM curfew? Well this is one customer that will no longer frequent this facility. I have a business of my own and will stay late for my best clients, have met them on emergency and more. It is far easier to keep a loyal and good customer than it is to get a new one. With this economy I feel that this restaurant will have a far tuffer time finding any new clients. We had frequented the place so often they considered us local. We were worth several thousand per year and often referred people staying at our condo or Ono Island House. They can safely assume that these referrals will also stop.
