Once again, the carrier I normally use, didn't show up to pick up my freight. I heard about this company and figured I would see if they could handle my product and get it delivered to my customer the next day.



I called and actually got to talk to a live person! Normally I would have to go through an automated system that would keep me on hold forever before I could ever talk to my rep or the quote department. I spoke to a dispatcher that gave me a quote that was much lower than my union carrier that I've been dealing with for over a dozen years. I always thought the biggest carrier would have the lowest rates....boy, was I mistaken!



I figured, if their rate was so cheap, their service must be pretty bad, but figured I might as well try them since I didn't want to pay the high price of one of those instant delivery services. By the time I hung up the phone, a driver from JJT was at my receiving dock 25 minutes later. He didn't even bellyache when he helped me load my product on the back of the trailer and I didn't have the paperwork ready.



The next morning when I got into the office, there was already a call from my customer on my voice mail thanking me for delivering my product so early. In fact, they already had it installed at the job site.



Well, that did it for me. I now have the same driver pick up my freight every couple of days and found out that his boss is a woman. Come to find out a couple of sisters run this certified women owned company that is family owned. He said the boss is in the office before he comes to work at 6 a.m. and is the actual 1st woman president of the California trucking association this year. Guess maybe the big trucking companies can learn a thing or two from this little lady.



I have to admit, I'm saving money going to this smaller company. Their employees are fun and professional to talk to, know my product and the special handling involved. I don't have to pay for them making appointments when needed, I've never had to make a claim, they don't bill me until my customer gets his freight and they don't charge me an arm and a leg if I need to send it COD or all these extra charges for this and that. It's nice to deal with a company that is honest and tells you if they're swamped and won't be able to deliver your freight at 7am but will have it there by 9. I'm not use to communication, but they sure impressed the heck out of me after only a few short months of using JJT. Sure wish more companies operated like them.
