Great food, great atmosphere. Was a wonderful place to have dinner with my husband. I don't normally write reviews, but when I saw the two star review from a customer who was blaming the restaurant for the fact that another customer was not looking after their children appropriately I felt compelled to write. It is absurd to take away from the restaurant for this family's disruptiveness - as that is something that happens on occasion no matter where you go.

A friend and I decided to meet...

A friend and I decided to meet for a relaxing dinner at the end of the work week, to spend some time catching up with each other. And since Old Lyme was a mutually convenient location, we thought we would try Jessie's Restaurant as the reviews were all favorable. The restaurant is nicely decorated, the food was wonderfully prepared and flavorful and the service was fine, however the atmosphere was terrible. We we seated against the back wall next to 3 to 4 adults and as many children. There was so much comotion and noise at that table, it was impossible to relax and carry on an enjoyable conversation. The children were extremely loud, screaming at times, running around the restaurant, playing noisy video games, standing and jumping on the seats (one without pants/underwear only). And if that wasn't enough, there was glass breaking, and other beverages spilled which had to be cleaned with a mop and bleach, which caused a strong odor. Jessie's seems to be a fine restaurant, but if you are looking for a relaxing dinner or to celebrate an anniversary, birthday, special occasion, etc., it's not the place. Other reviews described Jessie's as "cozy, warm, fine dining", unfortunately I did not experience the same. My experience was highly dissapointing and I will not be back.

I respect your point of view, however I feel that the behavior of patrons should not represent our fine facility. We pride ourselves in accomodating our customers with great food and service. We always welcome couples, groups and families! Tiffany - Owner Jessie's Restaurant

We stopped in for dinner on Saturday night. What a nice surprise. Great staff, great service and delicious food. Everything was fresh and well prepared and very generous portions. Don't let the strip mall location steer you away, it's worth a stop,

We'll be back!!!

I had dinner at the bar with 2 friends on Saturday night. The food and atmosphere was wonderful! We were really impressed with the original paintings on the wall (apparently painted by the owner's grandfather)! The food was well prepared and the dish presentation was nice despite the huge portions. The new owners were very nice and welcoming. Though the food quality was exceptional, the prices were very reasonably. I would highly recommend this restaurant!

We will definitely be back!

My family and have dined at Jessie's a few times and have been extremely pleased with the delicious food, friendly service and cozy atmosphere. The chefs offer an awesome variety of food on the menu and the staff makes certain that customers are satisfied with their meal choices. It's great to see a group of young, energetic adults open a new restaurant. I'm quite sure that Jessie's will be very successful. Good luck and keep up the good cooking!!!!

My wife and I decided to go to...

My wife and I decided to go to Jessie's for our first time to celebrate our 14th Anniversary. We called ahead to make reservations and were greeted at the door by Jess herself and brought over to our table. What a wonderful atmosphere. Very cozy and relaxing with beautiful paintings hung on the walls that we were informed were done by her grandfather. The Chef, Nick Dion, came to our table to present us with a complimentary appitizer of Stonington Sea Scallops that been rolled up with prosciutto inside and pan seared and drizzled with a Balsamic reduction. Absolutely Delicious! We also ejoyed the Lump Crab Cakes(a specialty of the sus chef, Anthony Sylvestri) that were also extremely yummy. Our entrees, the Southern Comfort(boneless batter fried chicken with pan gravey, grilled corn on the cob and Yukon Gold mashed potatos) for me and a 16oz Ribeye over grilled Portabello Mushrooms for my wife, were cooked to perfection. I don't know how we did it but we found just enough room to end our meal with a serving of their Peach icecream which made our experience complete. We will definetely be back for our next Anniversary and many times before I'm sure!!!

This restaurant is a long over...

This restaurant is a long overdue addition to Old Lyme as there just really aren't any fine dining / reasonably priced eateries in the town. The atmosphere is warm and cozy yet not crowded. The food is to die for. Presentation is masterful with the Chef putting a tasty creative flare on each dish and to top it off the wait staff are all experienced, efficient and not overbearing which can ruin a dining experience. Guaranteed, Jessie's will become the #1 on your list for regular dining out choices. Bon-Appetit

Was so Excited to hear there's was something new and fresh in Old Lyme Marketplace! Jessie's has such a warm and inviting atmosphere, and we were greeted with a smile at the door! Our server was awesome, seemed experienced and accommodating. Reasonably priced, My husband and I were able to each get an appetizer, entree, and shared dessert and he didn't pass out when the bill was dropped. Cannot wait to go back The food was out of this world! Jessie herself was there engaging customers and even came to our table to see how everything was. We also got a glimpse of the chef who came out to tables throughout the night. Overall our trip to Jessie's Restaurant was truly enjoyable from beginning to end! My husband and I have decided to make it our date night spot indefinitely!
