Insects and Spiders

Ants
Ants are social insects. They live in colonies, usually underground and are very successful because of their ability to work together towards the common goal of caring for their queen. Ant colonies are comprised of at least one queen and her workers. The workers take care of foraging for food to feed the young and the protection of the queen.
Spiders
Clover mites are a type of nuisance pest that are related to ticks and spiders. As their name suggests clover mites feed on the juices of clover, grass, and other lawn plants. Clover mites are very tiny, about the size of a pin head (.75mm), their body is oval in shape, and they have 8 legs. The front two legs are much longer than the other 6 legs, and are sometimes confused with being antennae.

Bees

They are often mistaken for bumble bees but instead of being “fuzzy” all over they have abdomens that are black and shiny. They are yellow and black in color and often lack stripes. Adults range in size from ¼ to 1 inch in length.

Beetles
Cigarette beetles are a type of stored product pest that are considered to be a nuisance pest. They are active year-round as long as their environment stays above 65 degrees. Females lay their eggs in pantry items and when the eggs hatch the larvae eat, pupate and develop into an adult. Adults grow to be about 1/10th of an inch in length and are a light yellowish-brown color. Their body is an oval shape and appear to be humpbacked because their head is bent down at an angle and is almost invisible from above. The larvae of the cigarette beetle are slightly smaller than the adult, worm-like and are a creamy white color.

Drugstore beetles are a type of stored pantry pest and like other types of pantry pests it is the larval stage that does most of the damage and contaminates food sources. Adult female drugstore beetles lay their eggs in a variety of food and non-food items which include: flour, spices, cereals, dry pet food, books, wool, leather, and of course, their namesake, prescription drugs. Once the larvae hatch they feed on the available food sources for a period of time before pupating into an adult.
Stinging Insects
Do-it-yourself carpenter bee control is not recommended. Pesticides that are available at big box stores are often ineffective and will end up costing you more in both time and money. They can be dangerous for you, your family, pets, and plants if they are not mixed, placed or used properly. Also DIY pest control does not do anything to treat the root cause of your carpenter bee problem, which is why and how are they are invading into your property. Another issue that makes treating these stinging insects hard, carpenter bees return to the same place year after year.
Mites
Clover mites overwinter as adults or eggs; when the weather warms in the early spring they emerge from their overwinter spots and climb up the sides homes and other buildings in large numbers. Woodpeckers
They can be. Female carpenter bees have the ability to sting. Their venom is powerful enough to cause an allergic reaction in some people. However, female carpenter bees are fairly docile and will only sting if they are being directly threatened or handled. Males are much more hostile and will aggressively buzz and fly around the heads of perceived threats. The good news is, although they are aggressive in action, the males do not have the ability to sting. The real danger that carpenter bee’s pose is to the structural integrity of your home and other structures located on your property. The wood that they are tunneling and nesting in is weakened by their presence and handy work. Also, carpenter bee tunnels can attract woodpeckers.
