A Panoramic X-ray provides information that other dental x-rays cannot show. Based upon this information, we can assist you in securing the proper dental care.
Oral Cancer Screening

Teeth Cleaning
Cleanings should be performed every six months to prevent excessive plaque buildup. Plaque consists of masses of bacteria that grow between and on teeth, at and below the gum line. Plaque left untreated can lead to unhealthy gums and tooth decay. A routine dental cleaning should include scaling, root planing and polishing.
Dental Sealants
A sealant is a thin, plastic-like material applied to the chewing surfaces of a child's permanent molars and premolars. The sealant fills the grooves and depressions of the tooth preventing cavity-causing buildup. Sealants can help prevent cavities from forming in the deep grooves of a tooth.

Fillings
Bonding can also be used in place of regular amalgam fillings. Many patients prefer bonded fillings, because the white color is much less noticeable than the silver of the amalgam fillings. Bonding fillings can be used on front and back teeth, depending on the location and extent of tooth decay.
Resin Composite
The direct technique usually involves placing composite resin on the outside of the tooth using bonding. Because of that, the direct technique is usually referred to as bonding.
Veneers
Veneers are a cosmetic dental procedure in which a thin layer of porcelain or composite material is cemented or placed over the outside of your tooth.

Root Canal Treatment
Root canal treatment, also referred to as root canal therapy or endodontic therapy, is used to save an infected or damaged tooth and avoid having to remove it.

Deep Cleaning
Periodontal treatment typically involves containing the bacteria through deep cleaning. This deep cleaning consists of scaling and root planing which clears the bacterial buildup along the root of the teeth. We also suggest specific toothpastes and mouth rinses. In severe cases, we may refer you to the care of a periodontist, a dentist who specializes in gum care.

Dentures
A removable partial denture is used when one or more natural teeth still remain in the upper or lower jaw. Made of replacement teeth attached to a pink or gum-colored plastic base, partials help restore better functionality to the mouth. Similar to complete dentures, it is possible to have more permanent option cemented into place.

A dental implant is an ideal tooth restoration for people who are missing one or more teeth for reasons like injury or periodontal disease.

Oral Surgery
Before his family days, Dr. Dan studied at the University of Kansas for his undergraduate degree in genetics and then remained in Lawrence for graduate school in molecular biology. That degree pursuit was cut short when he was led to dentistry by numerous mentors who were all in the field. After attending the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry and being distinguished with the AAOMS Implantology award for his class, he became a general practice resident at the University of Iowa-Hospitals & Clinics in Iowa City. That program furthered his cosmetic and restorative skills and allowed him to obtain advanced clinical training in oral surgery and intravenous sedation. After his residency, Dr. Dan and his wife moved to Denver, where he was an associate in a large group practice for 3 1/2 years.
