I just got done reading some very negative reviews for this facility. If I had not had a history with Parcway, I would not take my beloved mother-in-law there; however, my family's experience is the polar opposite! We had exceptional care on every level. When we did have a minor issue, it was handled in a professional and prompt manner! The food was delicious - prepared as ordered and delivered in a timely manner! We first utilized the services of Parcway a couple of years ago. We were so impressed with the care received, that we knew exactly where to go this time. In fact, our hospital stay was extended a couple of days in order for us to go directly to Parcway. As for Veryunhappy W., shame on you for allowing your mother to suffer in such squalor. If I had done that, I certainly would not broadcast it to the world and make a "HORRIBLE" situation even worse by bragging about how I participated in abusing and neglecting my own precious mother. After two weeks - at the absolute very most - it's on you. I say again, "Shame on you".

This place is horrible. Let me emphasize: HORRIBLE. The staff is uncaring and un-knowledgeable. My 80 year old mother was there for 120 days for rehab, after breaking her wrist from a fall. She was a fall risk and could not use her writing hand at all. She depended on someone to use the bathroom, bath, even walk. She went there with the hopes of being able to walk alone, and use her writing hand again. She has Parkinsons Syndrome, osteoporosis, and glaucoma. She takes medicine that is important for these conditions. She trusted these people to HELP her and CARE for her.

Any time I visited her she had nothing but complaints. Gazing into each room that I passed, I ALWAYS noticed that every elderly patient seemed lethargic, as if they had given up on life. My mother tried to complain about conditions to ANYONE in charge...which no one ever seemed to know who that was on a daily basis. Every complaint fell on deaf ears or was answered with excuses about how certain employees could not read or write English. I kid you not, the employees in the kitchen, the people preparing meals for these human beings, could not read or write English, yet were in charge of preparing food and dispensing it...as ordered on each individual menu. Now I believe in equal opportunity employment, but are there NO qualifications needed?

My mothers Discover card was stolen by an employee. She woke up one night and a black man was standing beside her bed, for no reason. He asked her if she remembered him. Yes, this was one of the aides, she remembered him because he had helped her to the bathroom early in the day. He had no business being there....she was already asleep for the night...it was bedtime and he was not there to give her medication.

She could not get medications when due, and sometimes not at all. She could not get ONE meal delivered to her as ordered. Procedure is to fill out a menu each day for what you would like for each meal. Every single meal was wrong, from day one. Seriously, do the math. 120 days times 3 meals a day. How hard can it be to get one meal right? Additionally, many, many, meals were delivered cold as well. And another example: She'd ask for ''just a biscuit without gravy'' How hard is that? It would come with gravy! When she would activate her nurse help light, she would wait sometimes as much as an hour before anyone would arrive. She missed important medications, was lied to about why it was missed. While there, she was told she had tested positive for a contagious bacteria, moved, as if it were an emergency, to another isolated room. Despite the fact that they scared her half to death by doing this emergency move, it was 6 days before she was seen by a doctor or given any anti-biotics for this supposed contagious bacteria. We doubt the truth in this diagnosis, as she had NONE of the symptoms she was told she should have. She cries when she talks about her time there. She felt helpless and no one would listen. I would never in a million years recommend anyone take their loved one or friend here. I plan on complaining to the state about this agency. I don't believe they should be in business. I truly hope you do some research before using this facility, and even as a last resort I would NOT use it. This is the place of nightmares, with truly horrific treatment of human beings that you hear about on T.V. This facility seriously needs to be investigated. I wouldn't give it one quarter of a star. Shame, shame, shame on you Parcway for daring to claim to be ''caring'' for anyone.

Horrendous care, they may have a nice building and great PT but the care is nonexistent. They dropped my loved one during her previous stay on multiple accounts and often skipped her meds. Despite multiple discussions with the 'head of staff' and the nurses personally, no one seemed to care. They are overrun with CNA's who, on many occasions, rolled their eyes at me and walked away when asked for something as simple as ice water when my loved one was thirsty. I would never recommend this establishment to anyone.
