Blackshear Elementary School

Last night 12/15/11 I attend with my family and friends an orchestra concert. Never have I been so embarrassed for students, parents, and the school as a whole not to mention the principal after the way the school Orchestra's teacher represented herself and the school. She is truly an unprofessional teacher and her criticisms to the children and the way she talks down to her students in front of an audience was horrible. She constantly talked about the kids as if the parents were idiots in the way the children had been raised. To say and I quote "Parents I know you all don’t know how to play very well but honestly you actually sounded like some of your kids" How is that in anyway encouraging to our students. She talked about how our kids were dressed, how they behaved, and how they preformed. To me students are a reflection of their teacher and if she was upset on things the students did or how they played it is only a reflection of how she teaches them. To call the kids weird and talk to them the way she did was very unacceptable and not suitable to be a teacher for my child. I hope more parents saw what I saw. I tried to find the principal during and after the concert and he could not be found. So I am making this a public review in hopes others will also step forward.
