Like all medical conditions you should first make an accurate diagnosis. In experienced hands a great deal of information can be obtained by using a simple hand held doppler. A duplex ultrasound is also effective in determining pathological reversal in venous blood flow patterns.
MRI
The new gel-filled implants are mechanically a much better device than the old implants. The cosmetic results will never equal the old gel implants though. The government recommends that after the second year the patient obtain an MRI of their breasts every third year. It has also been recommended that when the implants have been implanted for ten years that they are replaced with new implants.

General Surgery
Dr. Bartlett formed the W.T.P.A. (Western Texas Physicians Alliance). He graduated from the University Of Missouri School Of Medicine in Columbia, Missouri in 1967. In the following ten years, he completed his residencies in General Surgery at Tampa General Hospital, Tampa, Florida; Otolaryngology at City of Memphis Hospital, Memphis, Tennessee; Plastic Surgery at Medical Center Hospital, Columbia, Missouri; and was a Lieutenant Commander in the U.S. Navy stationed in Beaufort, South Carolina where he was Chief of the E.E.N.T. Department at the Beaufort Naval Hospital.
Hand Surgery
Following this training, Dr. Bartlett was a Lieutenant Commander in the Navy for two years and Chief of the E.E.N.T. Department at Beaufort Naval Hospital in Beaufort, South Carolina. He received his board certification in Otolaryngology and Maxillofacial Surgery in 1972. Upon completion of his military obligations, he did his Plastic Surgery residency at the University of Missouri, Columbia, Missouri, then went to the prestigious Kleinert Hand Surgery fellowship in Louisville, Kentucky. In 1978, Dr. Bartlett received his board certification in Plastic Surgery.
Otolaryngology
Dr. Bartlett then went to the University Of Missouri School Of Medicine in Columbia, Missouri to obtain his medical degree. He did his first post graduate training in Otolaryngology and Maxillofacial surgery in Tampa General Hospital, Tampa, Florida, and at the University of Tennessee, City of Memphis Hospital, in Memphis, Tennessee.

Eyelid Surgery
My vertical face-lift removes many of the preoperative findings that in the past would have required eyelid surgery. In the past, nearly every patient who had a facelift would have some sort of eyelid surgery. This has dropped to 1 in 20 because the vertical face lift is so effective in correcting cosmetic problems about the orbital area.
Liposuction
With liposuction, there has been a movement to limit the volume of fat removal with a single procedure to 5 Liters. Dr. Bartlett devised a method of removing volumes in excess of 14 Liters in a safe and predictable manner. Liposuction has become almost a form of art. It is not sufficient just to remove fat; the removal of fat is done in a way to give a stylized form.
Breast Augmentation
Dr. Bartlett performs a procedure for breast augmentation that is not commonly done by most plastic surgeons. The statistics submitted to the FDA by Mentor Corporation and McGhan Corporation (the two major breast prosthesis manufacturers) of undesirable effects of breast augmentation from a 3 and a 5 year study compares to Dr. Bartlettâ€™s statistics for 10 years.

Most ladies who have severe symptoms related to carrying heavy breasts are very grateful for the relief of symptoms following the breast reduction. These symptoms usually consist of frequent headaches, neck pain, shoulder pain, low back pain, not being able to sit on the floor without pain, unable to lay on their stomachs without pain, etc.

What generally is not attainable with a breast lift or ptosis procedure? Generally it is not possible to obtain long lasting increase in upper pole fullness. The upper pole is the level at which the breast mound first begins. To have long lasting increase of upper pole fullness you need to add a breast prosthesis.

Rhinoplasty is a word which means mold or form a nose. In ancient times noses were amputated as a punishment for adultery. The earliest rhinoplasties were to reconstruct the nose after this punishment. Today a total reconstruction of a nose is a procedure that rarely is performed.

I did my first face lift independently as a resident in 1969. I have performed hundreds of face lifts over the years. I believe I understand what the patient feels is important and how each piece of the face lifting procedure affects the outcome of the total procedure.
Blepharoplasty
I think the blepharoplasty surgical procedure has generally become more conservative. I think the brow and the eyelid need to be looked upon as one unit from a surgical stand point. Raising a low brow will help correct problems with loose upper eyelid skin.
Abdominoplasty
A Tummy Tuck, or Abdominoplasty, corrects what time, gravity, and pregnancy do to the abdominal region. Dr. Bartlett removes excess fat and skin, giving the abdomen a new, thinner look. The abdominal region has a naturally contoured look fitting oneÂ´s body type and size.
