Fort Bayou Apartments

The one true fix for Fort Bayou Apartments is a bull dozer! Honestly these apartments are run down to the point of no return. The rent is a tad bit smaller than some (the reason I moved in) but Mississippi power will get 5 times the money you save in rent just to try and keep the apartment comfortable....and it will still always be hot, muggy, moldy and sometimes I could even smell sewage from inside my apartment. When the first year lease is up you can expect at least $75 increase to renew for another year. The place is the most child and pet Unfriendly place I have ever seen. There is a huge fenced in tennis court that no one ever uses....not ever... but no place for dogs to run off leash. Nothing for children to do except swim in a pool that is ALWAYS filthy, trust me on that, my apartment overlooked the pool and when they finally got the water clear it just showed off the dirt and algae on the sides and bottom. My 13 year old son was skating on a sidewalk when a nut case "condo owner" ran outside, cussed him like a dog, threatened to punch him in the face then called the manager to tell her she was going to kill that f^^king kid! The police officer who responded thought she needed medication. Management's position was that they couldn't do anything because she is an owner...not a renter. I moved out because of this and they are still hounding me for $750 move out fee. I will not go into the same problems others have warned about in these reviews since 2003...leaky roofs, black mold, walls thin enough to smell what your neighbor is cooking for supper, these are still valid in 2015 but there are a few I would like to add. Stair banisters are attached to the sheetrock and not studs so if you grab one for support it will go through the wall and you will have to look at that mess for the duration of your stay…I did. Outside walls leak also so don't put any furniture you want to keep next to them. My brand new entertainment system was ruined this way....I was told by management "it happens". The majority of condo owners are hateful (most likely because they over paid for a ratty “Condo” and are stuck with it) and they run the place believe me…what they say goes. They do offer $200 refer a friend bonus but I would not refer my enemies to this place, as a matter of fact, I paid 2 friends $100 each to take an apartment elsewhere! I guess they can add two years rent to my $750 move out bill.
