Olympic Steakhouse

I have been to this restaurant countless times over the last six months. Every visit has been delightful. The service is top-notch. The servers are all very nice young people that seemed genuinely interested in my comfort. The food is always fabulous to the extent that I always eat way too much. I love this establishment and have frequented it so much that the servers know my name. I look forward to going back as soon as possible.

My wife and I looked forward to the opening of this establishment with great anticipation and have had pleasant experiences many times until Dec. 05, 2009. On this occasion, I elected to dine alone since my wife was not feeling well, but I was not that hungry. So I ordered my usual steak and potato which comes with the salad bar all for approx. $16.00 with drink. Many times before we have carried out leftover steak, etc. to our live-in dog. Since I did not think I could eat a salad and my meal also, I elected to take the salad home as take-out.



The waiter first advised that would be fine and proceeded to get the take-out box for the salad. But he returned to the table and informed me that his boss (the owner) had told him, his rule was that no salads would be taken out by his customers. No reason was given so I asked to speak with the owner and did so. His attitude was that some guests had taken advantage of the take-out policy and that salads would not be permitted to leave the premises in boxes.

He pointed out that the menu stated "Please do not share food".



My problem with this is quite simple...................alot of times we have the salad and do not finish the steak dinner and a box is provided to take the steak/potato home. If we eat the entree first and need to stop eating, why can't the GOOD customer carry his/her paid for salad home? This practice of not knowing who are good customers and who are bad customers, will soon place this establishment at the very bottom of "places to eat and enjoy".
