In the field of male infertility, Dr. Sharlip is a leading authority on vasectomy, vasectomy reversal and other types of microsurgical reconstruction of the male reproductive system. He has been Co-Chairman of the Male Infertility Best Practice Policy Committee of the American Urological Association. Currently, he chairs the Vasectomy Guideline Committee of the American Urological Association. This committee is writing an evidence-based document which will identify optimum preoperative, intraoperative and postoperative practices in vasectomy. The document will be available in May 2012.

Ira D. Sharlip, M.D., is Clinical Professor of Urology at the University of California at San Francisco. He is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, where he earned B.A. and M.D. degrees. He did his postgraduate medical training at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, the University of California at San Francisco, and at the Middlesex Hospital in London, England. Kidney Cancer
Dr. Jin’s practice covers male and female adult urology, including urologic cancers, kidney stone diseases, ureteral obstruction, prostate diseases, urinary incontinence, and sexual dysfunction. Dr. Jin specializes in robotic surgery, laparoscopic surgery and other minimally invasive procedures. He is an expert in advanced robotic surgery to treat patients with prostate cancer, kidney cancer, bladder cancer and ureteral obstruction. He performs minimally invasive endoscopic surgery to patients with complex kidney stone diseases. We use various imaging modalities, such as ultrasounds, bone scans, CT scans, and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to visualize and diagnose the presence of cancer and help to map out the course of treatment.
X-Rays
Computed Tomography
It allows us to deliver the radiation only to the area we want to treat. Targeting is analogous to the scope on the weapon. At GGCC, we used a combination of Calypso with a mini targeting CT scan (CBCT) on a daily basis.
Radiation Therapy
3D imagery allows us to more accurately pinpoint the location of the tumor and serves as a guide in planning your radiation therapy, as well as planning a biopsy or surgery.
Radiation Oncology
His specialty training in Radiation Oncology took place at the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, the number one ranked cancer hospital in the United States. Dr. Kornguth continued on staff at M.D. Anderson as Assistant Professor before relocating to California. He has published papers on side effect reduction and molecular markers.

General Surgery
Dr. Lee received his undergraduate degree at Princeton University in 1985 and attended medical school at the State University of New York at Stony Brook where he received his medical degree in 1989. After completing a 2-year residency in general surgery and a 4- year residency in urology at the Long Island Jewish Medical Center in New York, he pursued a 2-year fellowship in pediatric urology at the Schneider Children's Hospital (now known as Cohen Children's Medical Center) in New York.
Vasectomy
He specializes in laparoscopic and/or robotic surgery for kidney and bladder and prostate cancer, and telescopic surgery ("endourology") for benign prostate enlargement and urinary stones. He performs the Urolift procedure for prostate obstruction, the no-scalpel vasectomy, and offers in-office sedation for procedures. His practice emphasizes preventive medicine and non-surgical treatment for voiding symptoms, kidney stones, sexual dysfunction and urologic malignancies where appropriate.
