Tarahumara's Mexican Cafe

Absolutely disgusted with this place. Called multiple times about them blowing their trash out in to the street to surrounding businesses and homes behind their restaurant and finally was able to speak to the owner. After I told him about the situation and that I had seen it almost every day, he laughed at me, said he would do nothing about it, and I could take it up with the city. I hope this will influence other people to support businesses that care about their community, not one that will trash up the neighborhood they are a part of. I will be contacting the city and hope others will to.

Hate this place. Queso and salsa are okay. My entré was not good at all. I am not a big eater and usually have to take most of my main course home, but the entré was very small. Which was fine since the food was just adequate. I don't get the big deal about this place and was surprised by how busy they were. I understand that there were people in line outside, but when I'm drinking alcohol and eating a meal, I do not appreciate being rushed. I was only there for thirty minutes, and I finally asked for the check and a box. As I was finishing my drink, the waiter asked if he could put my meal in the box. I told him no and to stop rushing me. I would've asked for another drink had I been allowed to sit, relax, and enjoy it. I'm not going back there again, and have already told my friends about my experience. One friend who had eaten there before told me, "I hate that place - they hurry you!"

I came there worth a big group to celebrate a birthday. Because this is one of her favorite Mexican restaurants. Which we could of went to a diff. One however I chose this place. From the get go as soon as we got to our table our waiter didn't wait until all parties had even say down and was rushing us for our drink orders. I let that go said ok he's just being a good waiter. But then he proceeded to come back to our table every 2 mins asking if we was ready to order while we was all talking because we was there to celebrate a BIRTHDAY. Yes we wanted great service but he proceeded to say when I responded one time to his 20 times asking within 15mins. If we was ready I smiled and said no VERY politely he said ok well look let's look at the menu. EXCUSE ME! I do not go out to eat to be told when to look at my menu. I'm VERY disappointed. Then at the end he said alright thanks and didn't even offer us a sopapilla. Last time I checked it comes with your meal. One of customers favorite things about eating Mexican. So I'm giving 3 stars because he was rude, rushed us, and didn't allow us to enjoy ourselves there. Won't be there again with a group. EVER.

Great food, I especially enjoy Efrin's jalapeno cheese tamales. Efrin has really improved a building that was originally a Dairy Queen and then a Mazzio's pizza. The parking can be a problem and if you get there after 5 PM get ready for a wait to be seated.

Went there last night with my family (5) and they told us the wait would be 40 minutes. After an hour and 1/2 wait a family with an even larger party (10) that had come after us complained about the wait and were seated almost immediately. When we complained about this action we were told they could do nothing about it and that we would just have to wait. When we looked closely at the reservation sheet they could not explain other families with larger parties that also who had been seated before us. We thought this was very unfair and we will never eat there again.

Our favorite mexican food restaurant anywhere around the OKC area !!! Great service on top of wonderful food makes this a great place to bring visitors.

tarahumara's is the best mexucan food in the greater oklahoma city metro area! the staff is friendly. the service is so fast! u can be in and out in 30 minutes! u will love it! casual dining and great prices!

Tarahumara's is absolutely the BEST mexican cuisine ever! Folks, its worth the sometimes lengthy wait! Wish we could have a cold Corona while waiting although. Frozen thick goblets rimmed with lime as your waiter pours your beer! Free chips, salsa, queso, warm tortillas w/butter & honey! I ate here several times a week back in 06' when I did a short contract job. This palce puts most Mexican restaurants to shame. I will be back if I am even within a 2 hrs drive near Norman!

It is worth the wait. Best service, good prices, and best food. You won't be sorry with this one of a kind restaurant.
